Glico is developing a business that strengthens the five health areas of “optimized nutrition balance and baby growth,” “supporting growth,” “strengthening athletic ability and capacity,” “improvement of cognitive function and sleep,” and “healthy ageing.”
Representative brands include “Almond Koka,” a delicious and easy way to consume the rich nutrition in almonds, “SUNAO,” a lineup of staple foods and sweets that support lifestyles of appropriate sugar content , and “POWER PRODUCTION,” a sports supplement based on the concept of strategic recovery. In addition, Glico is developing “Papico,” which features a melty and smooth texture, “Aisu no Mi, ” an instantly satisfying and rich bite-sized gelato, “Premium Juku Curry,” a roux made using carefully selected ripe ingredients, and “DONBURI-Tei,” a ready-to-eat rice bowl base made with special ingredients and flavors.

Supporting a Healthy Lives with Dairy Products

Glico is developing a business that supports great taste and healthy lives by providing products that have value attributed to health to dairy products with ingredient-based great taste, based on high-quality milk-derived ingredients such as raw milk.
The representative product is “BifiX Yogurt,” containing Bifidobacterium BifiX, which produces short-chain fatty acids, and the dietary fiber inulin. Other brands include “Cafe Ore ,” which features drip coffee and the gentle sweetness of milk, and “Pucchin Pudding,” a national pudding that continues to deliver great taste and fun. There are also “Giant Cone,” which offers a variety of tastes and textures by combining toppings, cones, and other ingredients, and “Bokujo Shibori,” which is made with domestically produced milk freshly squeezed within the last three days. In the baby and child care field, Glico is developing “Icreo,” a baby formula product that contains carefully selected ingredients to promote the healthy growth of infants.

Developing Products Ranging from Food with Function Claims to Long-selling Products

Glico is developing a business with a lineup of numerous products that are both great taste and good health.
The representative product is “LIBERA,” which suppresses the absorption of fat and sugar and was the first product in the chocolate field to be recognized as a “Food with Function Claims.” “GABA” is also a Food with Function Claims, and the gamma-amino butyric acid contained in this product has been reported to reduce stress and improve sleep quality. Other products in the lineup include Glico’s representative long-selling products, such as “Bisco,” which contains bacillus coagulans that reach the intestines alive, “Pretz,” which features a pleasant texture and tasty ingredients, and “Pocky,” which was created as the world’s chocolate covered biscuit stick.

Contributing with Raw Materials and Ingredients Based on Years of Research and Technology

In the food ingredients business, Glico is mainly engaged in providing raw materials and ingredients of processed food products.
Glico supplies a variety of food raw materials to many food processing manufacturers, including wheat protein (gluten), various processed starches derived from wheat and tapioca, colorants (dyes) derived from plants and microorganisms, and “PapriX®,” a functional material developed by utilizing these ingredients. In addition, fine chemical materials such as “Cluster Dextrin®” and “BIOGLYCOGEN®,” developed based on Glico’s superior carbohydrate processing technology, are contributing to the creation of high-value added products and quality enhancement in various industrial fields around the world, such as cosmetic and industrial raw materials, as well as food raw materials.

Providing Product to Customers Through New Sales Channels

Glico is developing businesses that deliver products to consumers through new sales channels such as offices, departments stores, and e-commerce.
Glico is constantly taking on challenges in new markets through its businesses, which include “Office Glico,” in which Glico staff deliver products to dedicated refreshment shelves in offices, “Bâton dʼor,” which features buttery pretzels soaked in clarified butter and is sold in some departments stores and airports, “Caramel Kitchen,” a fresh caramel specialty store at New Chitose Airport that uses special fresh dairy ingredients produced in Hokkaido and manufacturing methods, and “Glico Direct Shop,” an online store where products not available at supermarkets can be purchased.

East Asia

Since its establishment in 1995, Shanghai Ezaki Glico Foods Co., Ltd. has continued to provide the Chinese market with relevant innovations that integrate Chinese food culture with Japanese snacks. The company manufactures and sell Pocky, PRETZ and Pejoy for consumers across the country. In 2016, it entered the e-commerce market to stay ahead of China's rapidly expanding digital economy, and continues to grow both online and offline.
Glico - Haitai Co., Ltd. is a joint venture with Haitai Confectionery in Korea to sell Pocky.
Glico Taiwan Co,. Ltd. is involved in the development of confectionery, processed food and ice cream business, etc.

Southeast Asia

Glico sees ASEAN as pivotal in its expansion overseas. In 2017, Glico Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. was set up to headquarter the region's offices as part of its ambition to grow and cement its standing as a consumer favourite. Glico has been a key market player in Thailand for the past 50 years, selling and locally manufacturing snacks like Pocky and PRETZ. Our Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines offices oversee local marketing and sales activities. Our ice cream business in Thailand and Indonesia have received praise for its premium Japanese quality. More recent developments include our infant formula foray into Vietnam.

North America

Ezaki Glico USA Corporation deals with the sales of Pocky and PRETZ. Glico Canada Corporation also handles other food products such as Glico Curry. In 2018 we acquired TCHO Ventures, Inc. that is also actively involved with sales and manufacturing of chocolate confectionery.

Europe

General Biscuit Glico France S.A. is a joint company with General Biscuit, sells MIKADO - the European version of Pocky.
