Beyond Japan: A career shaped by movement
Keisuke began his Glico journey in 2003 in Japan before taking on assignments in China, Thailand, and now Singapore. Each relocation meant adjusting not only to new markets, but to different cultural norms, leadership expectations, and communication styles.
What drew him forward was curiosity. He wanted to understand how decisions were shaped by local context, and how global perspectives could strengthen them. Over time, navigating unfamiliar environments sharpened his ability to listen deeply, adapt quickly, and contribute with greater clarity across borders.
Creating alignment across ASEAN
Keisuke played a key role in establishing the ASEAN Regional Headquarters in 2017 and later took on the role of Regional HR Business Partner, handling multiple markets, regional functions, and Centres of Excellence for certain HR core functions.
In cross-country and cross-functional work, he focuses on connecting the right stakeholders and ensuring they are involved at the right time. He works to clarify why decisions matter, proposes actionable options, and supports them with data to guide sound judgement. By aligning teams around shared goals and priorities, he helps drive more consistent execution and stronger coordination across markets and functions.
Leadership shaped by cultural perspective
Years of working across cultures have reshaped Keisuke’s philosophy on leadership. He sees differences not as friction, but as an opportunity to deepen thinking and strengthen decisions. Open dialogue and mutual respect, in his experience, achieve far more than authority alone.
He has also learned that transformation is influenced as much by early adopters within each market as by formal leadership. Creating space for those voices builds momentum for change. By leading with cultural sensitivity and strategic clarity, Keisuke continues to strengthen regional collaboration while staying grounded in the people behind every decision.
